Dreams

“I believe in everything until it’s disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it’s in your mind. Who’s to say that dreams and nightmares aren’t as real as the here and now?”

John Lennon

Whatever you believe about God or the Divine, we all share one thing in common. We all dream. Whether you have fun dreams, fantasy dreams, detailed and confusing dreams or nightmares: you do dream.

My belief is that there is a part of you that you can access what some call your “Higher Self.” This is the wise part of you that is mostly subconscious and continues to communicate with you at a subtle level. Your ego often blocks this information, in an attempt to stay in control and so you aren’t overwhelmed with too much information at once. It is a filter and the “old guard.”

Your dreams are messages from this wise “Higher Self,” and when worked with on a consistent basis or even occasionally with a powerful dream, you can change your life in amazing ways!

Many of my students and clients have said they don’t remember their dreams. The way to change this is to put a notebook and fast writing pen by your bed every night. Before you fall asleep, ask yourself to remember your dreams in the nighttime. If you awake in the night, write your dream down or do it in the morning. Remember, dreams are fleeting, so you will need to practice to capture them!

For those who are techier, grab your smart phone and record the dream into it and email the message to yourself. You will be amazed to find the email in your inbox in the morning!

Reading books on dreams helps you to remember them. These are my favorite books that will not only help you remember, but will also assist you in finding out what your Higher Self has to say to you!

Valentine’s Day and Quantum Physics!

“What we often fail to realize is that the quantum field responds to what we are, not necessarily what we want.”
― Greg KuhnHow Quantum Physicists Build New Beliefs

You might wonder what Quantum Physics has to do with Valentine’s Day, but as I learn more about Quantum Physics, I understand science is proving what many of us metaphysicians have been teaching for a long time.

As Greg Kuhn explains in his book Why Quantum Physicists Don’t Fail, “The science of the second scientific revolution shows us that the outside world is created by one’s inside world, not the other way around.”  What this means is what you experience, what you see or how you see things, comes from your inner world, your perception. Nothing you see is real, or right, or wrong for that matter. What you believe, what you understand, what you experience is based on your collective inner experience. As a therapist I have been working with clients for close to 20 years teaching this concept.

roses So, how does this relate to Valentine’s Day? The expectation around this holiday is enormous and because, whether you want to admit it or not, the gift you receive or give is directly related to how much you love or are loved. Whether you are contemplating what you want to give your loved one, or responding to what you receive; your perception is all that matters.

Have you ever bought a gift for someone and they misunderstood either the meaning of the gift or how important it was to you when you chose it? Have you ever had someone either give you an insignificant or wrong gift? Did anyone ever cancel a Valentine’s date with you at the last minute due to a crisis? What did you make it mean?

What is important is not the gift itself, but the meaning you give to it.

So, this Valentine’s Day, I’d like to invite you to do something different. Whatever happens or doesn’t happen; whatever you are given or not given; whatever you give or don’t give; let it be perfect. Detach from any self-talk and just be with the experience. Or if you prefer, be grateful for whatever happens, even if previously you would have been angry, disappointed or hurt. Just be grateful for any experience.

Practicing this will definitely shift your mood during this holiday and truly shift your whole life experience for the better. It takes practice, but please receive this as my Valentine’s gift to you!

Reiki Healing

“The power of belief, the absolutely awesome incredible power of belief, is the genie in your life. Let me say that again.

The absolutely awesome incredible power of belief, is the genie in your life.”  — Eldon Taylor

12 Weeks to Self-Healing: Transforming Pain through Energy Medicine  shares about self-healing and healing others.

This is an excerpt from my #1 Best-selling book. (p. 149)

When teaching Reiki healing for many years, I have told my students that we all have the ability to heal. Many clients experienced their own ability to feel energy and heal themselves as well as others in this process.

2An illustration of this principle involved a client of mine with cancer who was in the hospital preparing for surgery. I asked my students to meet me there and use Reiki to help calm her and assist in the healing process. When the doctors located a blood clot and could not operate, I invited my students, as well as the client’s mother and sister, to assist me in laying hands on the client. After talking with the nurse in charge, I understood the clot needed to dissolve before they could operate. We all imaged this as we did the healing. A period of a half hour or so went by, and when I felt an immediate sense that the healing was complete, I asked the nurse to check again. They did, and the clot was gone. The client was subsequently able to receive the needed surgery, the mother and sister of the patient were able to be helpful, and my students’ confidence in their healing ability increased. It was a glorious day!

We are all connected to the Source, and we all have the ability to channel this love. Here are some exercises to practice so that you can define your beliefs and connect with the God of your heart, as well as get in touch with your own healing abilities.
