Valentine’s Day and Quantum Physics!

“What we often fail to realize is that the quantum field responds to what we are, not necessarily what we want.”
― Greg KuhnHow Quantum Physicists Build New Beliefs

You might wonder what Quantum Physics has to do with Valentine’s Day, but as I learn more about Quantum Physics, I understand science is proving what many of us metaphysicians have been teaching for a long time.

As Greg Kuhn explains in his book Why Quantum Physicists Don’t Fail, “The science of the second scientific revolution shows us that the outside world is created by one’s inside world, not the other way around.”  What this means is what you experience, what you see or how you see things, comes from your inner world, your perception. Nothing you see is real, or right, or wrong for that matter. What you believe, what you understand, what you experience is based on your collective inner experience. As a therapist I have been working with clients for close to 20 years teaching this concept.

roses So, how does this relate to Valentine’s Day? The expectation around this holiday is enormous and because, whether you want to admit it or not, the gift you receive or give is directly related to how much you love or are loved. Whether you are contemplating what you want to give your loved one, or responding to what you receive; your perception is all that matters.

Have you ever bought a gift for someone and they misunderstood either the meaning of the gift or how important it was to you when you chose it? Have you ever had someone either give you an insignificant or wrong gift? Did anyone ever cancel a Valentine’s date with you at the last minute due to a crisis? What did you make it mean?

What is important is not the gift itself, but the meaning you give to it.

So, this Valentine’s Day, I’d like to invite you to do something different. Whatever happens or doesn’t happen; whatever you are given or not given; whatever you give or don’t give; let it be perfect. Detach from any self-talk and just be with the experience. Or if you prefer, be grateful for whatever happens, even if previously you would have been angry, disappointed or hurt. Just be grateful for any experience.

Practicing this will definitely shift your mood during this holiday and truly shift your whole life experience for the better. It takes practice, but please receive this as my Valentine’s gift to you!

Changing Beliefs in the New Year

As we think about New Year’s Resolutions, it seems to me in order to end the year with the desires we chart at the beginning of the year, we need to change our beliefs. Valerie Lipstein, a Results Specialist, Certified Coach and Consultant has agreed to share with us about changing Beliefs!

Valerie, there are so many people today who are hoping to make changes in their lives by changing their beliefs. I understand you teach about changing beliefs. What do you teach?

I love this topic and believe it’s one of the biggest stumbling blocks to our success.  Our beliefs are so powerful and they affect around 80% of our behavior and the results we get.   In fact, the Law of Cause and Effect says that our results are reflective of our thinking yet many still believe that their results are the cause of some outside force or circumstance. It is true that many people want to make changes, however without knowing about and learning how to re-program the subconscious mind imprinting it with what they really desire, most people do not change. They become frustrated and look at outside circumstances as the culprit.

You must understand the concepts first and then have strategies and practices to shift outdated, ineffective and destructive paradigms.   Thinking authentically and asking empowering questions are two powerful strategies.  Most people think shallow thoughts and their results in life are reflective of this.

Situations occur all the time. We often label them “good” or “bad.”  We are unhappy when things seem bad yet once we get in harmony with the immutable laws of the universe we realize that situations are really neutral.  It’s our surface mind that attaches the labels which can keep us in our prisons; all the while we only need to push the door open and walk outside.

We look at our beliefs and challenge the dis-empowering ones. We really live in an abundant universe. To know this truth and live from it is very powerful and will create success. It is a practice and takes discipline. There is not a lack of resources on this planet, yet there are millions who live in poverty; all the while abundance exists.  The problem is with distribution, awareness, and perhaps greed.

In The Science of Getting Rich, Wallace Wattles speaks about this being the hardest work we ever can do, “To think what you want to think is to think TRUTH regardless of appearances….To think according to appearances is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform.”

My mentor, Mary Morrissey, says that “we don’t deny the facts; we deny the facts to control us.”  When we allow the outside circumstances to control how we feel and act we are dis-empowered.

Many people do not have a direction for their lives, living by default doing what they have always done yet not really thriving.  It’s like sleep walking through life.  I experienced this for almost a decade until my wake-up call.

I support people to get a crystal clear vision of the life they would love to live and support them to get their results.  Success starts with a strong desire for something.  We look at longings and discontent and start there as these are powerful signals that a person is out of alignment with their true nature. We look at 5 domains: Financial well-being, spirituality, relationships, career/creativity and health/well-being.

What are the most important behaviors to assure that changing one’s beliefs can impact their lives on a daily basis?

  • Foremost, pay attention to what you are paying attention to.  Our subconscious mind reads our attention as our intention.  We will create our results from this mode.
  • Be in a structure of support, it is very difficult to do this work without support.  Mastermind groups, mentoring, being around people of increase awareness
  • Study daily and be a life long learner-successful people are open and receptive to new ideas and are willing to challenge themselves
  • Practice Gratitude-gratitude is at the heart of successful people’s lives.  This is not kindergarten gratitude for things we have or when things are good.  This is gratitude in all situations, which is transforming
  • Have a daily practice to quiet the mind-Intuition can only be accessed when we are open and receptive.

What is the belief you changed that had the biggest impact in your life?

I was living my life by default in 2005 and felt stuck. On the one hand I had been studying spiritual and personal growth principles and had made some advancement. Yet, I did not fully grasp the concept of how powerful our habitual thinking can be.  I was working as a Social Worker at a state agency, making good money with great medical benefits. I looked successful and felt horrible.  I was living for Fridays and dreading Mondays. Being raised in a family where safety and security were valued over passion and creativity, I adopted this belief. My parents were products of the depression. You stay at your job even if you don’t like it because you get that weekly paycheck.  My rationale mind didn’t agree, yet my subconscious mind ruled.  The belief was affecting my whole life, yet I didn’t know it.  All I knew was that I was unhappy and felt STUCK.  I had lost my passion for social work yet I had excuses and rationalizations for staying.

Bob Proctor said, “You can’t get out of a prison unless you know you are in one.”  It took a life changing phone call to snap me out of my prison. My best friend I had known since I was 17 died suddenly, she was only 52.  Susan was living from her passion, however, when she died.  I had a choice; I knew intuitively I had to take it or I would continue to live in my prison. My prison was my thinking.  Once I changed my thinking, realizing that I could create a life I loved and did not have to “settle”, my whole world changed.  Now I do work that I love, making a difference in the world by supporting others to live from their passion.  Most days I wake up and can honestly say, “I really love my life.”  What a gift!  I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given to begin again.

What about Vitamin D?

An Interview with Patrick C. Dougherty, D.C.

Recently I had some blood work done and found I was low in Vitamin D. I remembered several friends and clients had the same problem and so I contacted Dr. Pat to find out more.

Dr. Pat, I understand you are a Chiropractor here in Spokane. How long have you been practicing?

I have practiced chiropractic since March of 1994, first in Denver CO, and since November of 2004 in Spokane WA.

What else do you do in your practice?

Chiropractic College did not prepare me to pursue creative solutions to people’s health challenges.  As a chiropractor I am required to take continuing education credits each year.  It is these classes that have shaped how I work today.  Rather than look at a person as merely muscles and bones, I initially  evaluate them in a total of six areas:  Musculaoskeletal, electromagnetics, nutrition excess and deficiency, toxicity, buried emotional stress, and allergy and sensitivity.  I do this with a combination of muscle testing, questionnaires, and intuition.

After the evaluation I present the person with a list of the health challenges I observed, they choose what they are willing to work on, and I help them overcome their challenges through chiropractic adjustments to optimize the nervous system, nutritional supplementation, diet counseling, exercise and posture counseling, soft tissue release techniques, and other energy techniques.

I accomplish this by using my hands, mechanical adjusting instruments, cold laser therapy, and supplements.

Is it true that Vitamin D is a hormone?

Vitamin D is a steroid hormone.  Hormones are chemical messengers.  They have a shape that allows them to fit into the receptors of cells.  This is much like a jigsaw puzzle.  If the cell and the hormone fit together then the hormone can pass along its encoded message to the cell.

I understand you know a lot about Vitamin D. What is so important about Vitamin D?

A tremendous number of cells in the body have Vitamin D receptors.  For this reason, researchers have found that Vitamin D has the ability to optimize function in 2000-3000 genes in the human body.  That is 10% of all the genes in the body!  The better you genes and cells work, the better you will function.

The vast majority of everything we know about Vitamin D has been uncovered in this century.  Researchers have found Vitamin D deficiency in astounding numbers of named diseases and conditions.  While this does not mean that Vitamin D is the sole cause of any of these conditions, it does indicate that unhealthy people almost always have low Vitamin D levels.

The bottom line is that your genes are the blueprint for your body.  Vitamin D activates many of the “healthy” genes in the body.  Ask yourself, “do I want to build my body and my health with the best blueprint available to me, or will I settle for a blueprint from a first grade architecture class?”  If you want the best, then you will take Vitamin D.

How much Vitamin D should we take?

This is controversial subject.  The main reason it is controversial is that the FDA appears to be impervious to science.  It is only recently that the FDA raised the suggestion daily dose of Vitamin D from 400 IU/day.  Scientists have known for years that this is a fairly meaningless dosage.  Every year researchers at some of the best medical schools in the world are suggesting higher daily dosages of Vitamin D than ever before.  I have seen 10, 000 IU/day recommended in several papers in the past year.

Personally I am wary of such a high dose, but only because I have not seen enough evidence.  I have taken 3000- 5000 IU/day for the past 3 years.  When I have my Vitamin D blood level tested I have never come close to peaking at a dangerous level.

I recommend anywhere from 1000-5000 IU/day dependent on the personal factors involved.  I also recommend that people taking dose of 5000 IU/day and up get their blood level tested to insure they do not overdose on Vitamin D.

Can we just take the Vitamin D from the grocery store?

I recommend people get their supplements from a source they can trust to weed through all of the poorly made supplements and only provide the highest quality supplements.  I have yet to see a grocery store that meets this criteria.  Surveys have shown that a huge number of supplements are not well made, and at times they even have enough impurities to be harmful to a person.

Also, because Vitamin D is a steroid hormone it is fat soluble.  Many people have difficulties with fat digestion.  For this reason I use a liquid vitamin D in my office.  I believe the liquid form is more readily absorbed by more people than Vitamin D in the pill form.

My work is about self-healing. In what way would taking Vitamin D help in self-healing?

Vitamin D, in my mind, is the king of the self-healing supplements.  I firmly believe in the chiropractic principle that the power that made the body can heal the body.  In other words we are meant to be healthy – until our pathologically stressful lifestyle interferes to a degree that the self-healing capacity of the nervous system to comprehend our stresses and adapt to them is overwhelmed.

Vitamin D, because it asserts a positive influence on so many genes in the body, and so many of our cells; increases the capacity of our body to resonate at a higher level.  When our vibratory frequency is peaking, so is the ability of the nervous system to comprehend and adapt to stress.  That adaptation is the key to expressing our innate healing ability.

What would you say are the top 3 other ways we can take good care of our health?

The key to good health is the ability of the nervous system to comprehend and adapt.  Receptors on the spine are the conductors for that communication.  For that reason, I recommend everyone get chiropractic adjustments.  Adjustments facilitate vibratory frequency in the spine, which encourages nervous system communication.  That communication is what allows a body to make good use of the three factors that follow.

1.  It would be easy to say Food, Food, Food here. But I will give you 2 other ways, also.  Food is the fuel for our body.  It is proper to draw an analogy to a car.  If the proper fuel is put in a new car it runs beautifully.  When you put a lesser grade of fuel in the car it runs more poorly.  Put diesel in a gasoline engine (or vice versa) and you have got big problems.  Put kerosene in your car and I shudder to think what would happen.

Our bodies are no different.  There is good fuel and bad fuel.  A good rule of thumb is that if you have to read a label, then the food is probably not great fuel.  Whole fresh foods, preferably organic and not shipped a great distance are going to supply your body more good fuel than processed foods.  People who ignore this principle are robbing their energetic essence.

2.  Exercise is so important.  Many people think that because they are active during the day they do not need to have a regular exercise program.  The focused intensity of an exercise program is much more valuable to must of us than a busy day.  Exercise programs need to be tailored to the individual.

3.  For number three I am going to cheat and say people need to honor the importance of positive self talk, good posture, a daily source of mind quieting activity, a daily dose of learning, daily expressions of gratitude, and finally having a clear and active purpose in life.

This has been really informative. Thank you so much!

What is DNA Activation?

You may wonder about DNA Activation and what it is and what happens when you get your DNA activated. I liken it to a spiritual immune builder. We have 2 strands of DNA in our physical body and up to 144 strands in our etheric body. I originally activated to 12 strands of DNA, but one day when I was in my office with a client, we simultaneously felt some energy coming down from the top of our heads. we looked at each other and said together, “We just got activated to 144 strands of DNA!” I was surprised and later called Diane Stein, whom I had been working with after connecting with the Lords of Karma. She checked in with her guides and said yes, that is correct.

Now, I tend to be grounded, have my feet on the ground, have a degree in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University and a doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy from American Pacific University, but I cannot help it  – when something spiritual happens, it happens and I follow my path and my guidance. Although many people will not believe something until it is proven with science, I am a big believer of personal experience as well. In fact, science, which I love is finally catching up with what we have known intuitively for many years. I find I am usually many years ahead, and hope that the understanding of the etheric field and DNA strands becoming activated will be main stream information in the next few years.

At this time, it is important for me to assist others in becoming activated. Since my work with the Lords of Karma, DNA Activation and the Essential Energy Balancing workshops I have facilitated, my life has been incredible.  I am able to manifest easily and it is much easier to move from negativity or fear into peace, love and forgiveness.

The DNA Activation and Essential Energy Balancing Workshops are not magic, but they do clear the karma and bring more Light into your body so that you can do the daily work of changing behaviors, practicing love and kindness, and finding joy and peace.
