Body is not made of Marble

“The idea in our culture of body solely as sculpture is Wrong. Body is not marble. That is not its purpose. It’s purpose is to protect, contain, support, and fire the spirit and soul within it, to be a repository for memory, to fill us with feeling – that is the supreme psychic nourishment. It is to lift us and propel us, to fill us with the feeling to prove that we exist, that we are here, to give us grounding, heft, weight. It is wrong to think of it as a place we leave in order to soar to the spirit. The body is the launcher of those experiences. Without body there would be no sensations of crossing thresholds, there would be no sense of lifting, no sense of height, weightlessness. All that comes from the body. The body is the rocket launcher. In its nose capsule, the soul looks out the window into the mysterious starry night and is dazzled.”

Sometimes we require them.”
Pat Conroy, The Lords of Discipline
My experience in Sisters, Oregon and The Healer’s Gathering has been transformational. Those on the path to growth, healing and transformation often understand that it is our response (reaction) to our environment that fosters the growth. For me, I watch for the resistance.
My first experience of this resistance was at the opening ceremony here which was performed by “Tat” Erik Gonzalez, Shaman and creator of Earth People’s United. For some reason I felt a sense of irritation and was uncomfortable. It took me a day later to understand what was happening.
In my early 20’s I was married to a Native American spiritual leader, Peter Campbell. My young children (from a previous marriage) grew up going to Pow Wows. Later, after Peter and I dissolved our legal marriage, I lead Sacred Ceremonies and a Medicine Wheel retreat. I went on to work as a mental health counselor with local Native children at the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations.
I felt so alone at the Opening Ceremony because what was happening in the here and now (Ceremony) was my experience 30 years ago. I felt out of sync. What was new for many was the past for me. More recently I have been working with a group of Ascended Masters called the Lords of Karma. The work I do is often remote where I connect with the Lords and with people all over the world and do healing work. I become a conduit if you will, or a prayerful presence. It is all vibration and has a different feel about it than the powerful vibration of the drum.
Later when I shared my angst with my dear friend Katie Cavanaugh, I instantly became clear. My creativity now is to connect this powerful Sky Energy and Beings with the Earth Energy. It is not one or the other, but both. The ancients of the Earth and the Ancients of the Sky are not separate. We are all one.
Having had this experience I felt the connection of the Sky and Earth come together and in my own life, they merged into a balance.
This may sound “out there” so to put it in more personal terms, it means to balance my life. I will continue to connect with clients and students all over the world through the Internet, phone, Skype, Google Hangout, and remotely. I will do my energetic clearing, healing and psychic work. I will also do the grounded ceremony practices in my life such as walking the Sacred Spokane River daily, communicating with plants and trees, and bringing nature into my home all year long.
What really happened in this Sacred Ceremony with “Tat” Erik Gonzalez is my perspective shifted a bit and the separation I experienced became a healing of “Oneness.”
Note: Later, I was blessed to be with Doug and Katie, “Tat” Erik Gonzalez and his lovely wife Heddi, and their beautiful daughter Sylvia, while Doug, Katie and Tat played mostly original music by my friend, and award winning Singer/Songwriter, Katie Cavanaugh!
The Victim Archetype

The challenge is to silence the mind”
Caroline Myss
Yesterday I shared information about the Saboteur Archetype and asked you to journal about your own Saboteur. I committed to doing this myself to find out what was underneath my over-caffeinating behavior on the drive to Sisters, Oregon.
What an incredible experience it was. I sat at my friend Susie’s house overlooking the mountains and journaled. What I realized was I was actually stressed to make this long drive, but I wasn’t letting myself feel this. Instead of planning to care for myself on the drive, I just pushed through.
The other issue was, as much as I was delighted to go to The Healer’s Gathering, I was hesitant to spend three days in a group of 100 people. Being extremely sensitive has been great for my work as a psychic medium, but it also makes some other situations challenging.
When I journaled, I realized that often in my life I have been over-stimulated in situations where others do just fine. For many years I didn’t understand that I was so sensitive and often my responses appeared to others that I was being a victim. Today I know that those of us who fit the category of Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) have to take care of ourselves and plan ahead. It has been nearly impossible for me to communicate so others understand the situation, and it just created conflict.
To all the other HSPs – You are not victims! Say yes to self-care! I’m listening to this too!
In another blog I will share more about Highly Sensitive Persons, but today I want to continue with Archetypes and share about the Victim Archetype.
This information comes from information from Caroline Myss’ work in her Sacred Contracts book and the classes I took from her on Medical Intuition and Sacred Contracts. I have also added information that I have gained from working as a mental health counselor and chemical dependency professional for over 20 years.
Remember that we all have 4 archetypes that we share. These are the Child, Victim, Saboteur and Prostitute. The gift of the Victim Archetype is Self-Esteem.
In the process of self-healing, you have to come to terms with your victim self and move beyond this state of being. You can identify your victim, confront the behavior, love and forgive yourself and bring your energy into present time. In fact, unless you can bring at least 80% of your energy into present time, you will not have the power to self-heal. What do I mean by bringing yourself into present time? Watch your thoughts. Do you go off to the future (which can create anxiety) or drift off to the past (which can cause depression) or are you able to be present in the moment?
Enjoy exploring this archetype that can bring you high self-esteem once you embrace this part of yourself and move on!
Victim Archetype
Guardian of Self Esteem
Core issue is whether it is worth giving up your own sense of empowerment to avoid taking responsibility for your independence.
When you don’t stand up for yourself after awhile you no longer can tell the difference whether you are being victimized or not; so either you are being victimized and don’t know it or you are not being victimized, but act as if you are.
-
The victim archetype helps you decide what you will or will not do; a guardian of personal boundaries.
-
Lessons associated with the victim archetype demand that you evaluate your relationship to power, especially with people with whom you have control issues and have to set boundaries.
-
Primary objective is to develop self-esteem and personal power.
-
You have contracts with people whose primary purpose is to help you develop yourself-esteem through acts of honesty, integrity, courage, endurance and self-respect.
-
The victim will entice you to feel sorry for yourself.
-
You can act like a victim and give in or call upon your companions and guides for help.
-
Like the lion in the Wizard of Oz, you need to have the courage to look at your victim and make it your ally.
-
Do you victimize yourself in the way you interpret conversations with other people?
-
Does your victim alert you to protect yourself rather than letting people take advantage of you?
-
Does your victim motivate you to be shrewd in the dealings of whatever house it is in?
-
Does your empowered victim allow you to take risks in your life?
-
The victim urges us to act appropriately when we are in danger of being victimized.
-
The victim can alert us to being victimized through passivity and rash or inappropriate actions.
-
It can also alert us to how we victimize others for personal gain.
-
In shadow it may show how we play victim for sympathy or pity.

Brings up a great song memory doesn’t it? Well, I am driving at this time and on my way to two events. One is The Healer’s Gathering created by my dear friend Katie Cavanaugh. This is a group of 100 healers coming together “To Get Inspired and Empowered to Awaken your Healing Wisdom as You Tap into the Highest Purpose of your Soul!”
I am so excited to spend this time with Katie and the others who are on a similar path. Today is a driving day and so I will check in tomorrow. In addition to the veggies I’ll snack on I have some yogurt and cheese sticks. Not the best food, but being hypoglycemic, I know my body’s requirements around protein and carbohydrates and I don’t cook.
I’ll share about the second event later!

Sixth Chakra Wisdom

What fuels your spirit fuels your body.”
― Caroline Myss, Anatomy of the Spirit
My senses are heightened on my early morning walk with the mist of the summer storm hanging in the trees! I plugged in my headphones and listened to Caroline Myss’s CD on the Sixth Chakra in preparation for a class I am teaching this evening on Journaling. We are focusing on the Sixth Chakra– the Power of Insight.
The sixth chakra emphasizes wisdom and as I walked I began to inventory what gets in the way of my health and weight loss. I have known for a long time it has to do with stress, but today I became clearer on the stress. It’s not so much what I do, but what I think about what I do. I have shared before I love my career and that I enjoy the creative freedom I have.
What I notice though, is that I have an automatic resistance pulling at me as my creativity soars. For instance, rigidity takes over if I am on a roll finishing up my latest book and a neighbor knocks on the door and wants to talk. My whole body tightens up and I have a difficult time changing gears.
As I walked in the door after this misty walk with Caroline teaching me along the way, I realized how a simple gesture, comment or just being attentive can elevate someone else’s day.
Today I am going to focus on being resilient and not resistive. My heart and mind will open to whatever presents itself and I can take the few minutes to redirect my attention. This is the wisdom of the sixth chakra!

Time and Space

Campbell, Cheyenne, Cheyenne Mendel, employer, equal, equal opportunity employer, friends, godaddy.com, Landmark Forum, mother, mother bear, opportunity, PhD, protection, Sonia Choquette, Soul, Soul Lessons, Soul Purpose, space, time 2 CommentsIn a weekly phone meeting with my dearest friends, this last week we talked about the chapter Waste No Time in Sonia Choquette’s book Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose.
What I realized is I have been busier than I would have liked the last few years and I am like a mother bear protecting her cub around my time. She says if you “squander your time” basically you hold yourself back and others too!
I loved that she said, “do not waste other people’s time either. It is emotionally indulgent and disrespectful to break agreements, send mixed messages, arrive late for appointment (or miss them altogether), or be unaccountable.
Several years ago I took the Landmark Forum and Advanced Forum. There I learned how important it is to follow through when I give my word. It is about who I am and how others will see me and whether or not I gain respect and trust from others.
Now, I am not saying I don’t mess up at times. Occasionally, for some odd reason a client appointment disappears from my calendar and I end up unprepared as someone shows up or I call a client because they missed an appointment and I hadn’t recorded they had cancelled. When this happens, I grovel appropriately and do whatever I need to do to make it right with them.
My time is valuable and so is yours.
My tendency has been, like I said, to mother-bear around protection of my time. I feel my time is being imposed on when I end up on the phone trapped in a circular system pressing buttons to get to a live person when I encounter the occasional mishaps around computer glitches, insurance claims or an issue with godaddy.com. Even so, my new growth goal is when I do get the live voice, to be polite and try not to ruin their day.
Thanks for taking your precious time to read this blog. Next time I will talk about space!
Now it is time to play!
Time is the only equal opportunity employer there is.

Soul Mates
Posted: September 6, 2011 Filed under: Energy Medicine DNA | Tags: healing, mates, perfect, relationships, self, Soul, trust Leave a commentWhen doing readings I often get asked about soul mates. It seems there is a lot of confusion about the concept of soul mates. Often a soul mate is thought of as a perfect mate; one who truly is the love of your life, the other half of you. I believe a soul mate is more like the person in your life who is your mirror. Through relationship with a soul mate you are revealed to yourself. The ways in which you hide are revealed and the shadow side of your personality is exposed. A soul mate is one who comes into your life, tears down the barriers to your full self-expression and intensifies situations so your true self is revealed. You find another layer peeled away and often this person then moves on. If you can stay present and learn from this experience, totally acknowledging and owning who you are, this person can end up being your best friend and one whom you love deeply. If you are not able to see yourself with the veils pulled down then there will be chaos and struggle and the relationship can end up as a painful memory. Relationships can be intensely healing, especially when we know that they bring up all that we have left to heal so we can become our Highest Self.
